Uttarakhand Panchayat elections: First phase of voting tomorrow; 17,829 candidates in the fray

The process of panchayat elections is going on in 12 districts of Uttarakhand except Haridwar district. In the first phase, the voting process will start from 8 am on July 24, which will continue till 5 pm. All the polling parties have left for the voting to be held in the first phase.

At the same time, keeping in mind the weather, all the polling parties have not only been provided with rain protection items. But, SDRF and NDRF teams have also been deployed in disaster-sensitive areas.

A revised notification was issued by the State Election Commission on June 28 regarding the Uttarakhand three-tier panchayat elections. Under which the panchayat elections are to be conducted in two phases. The voting process will be completed on July 24 under the first phase and on July 28 under the second phase. After this, the process of counting of votes will start simultaneously on July 31.

In Uttarakhand, the election campaigning stopped at 5 pm on July 22 under the first phase of the three-tier panchayat elections. In such a situation, tomorrow i.e. on 24th July, the public will vote for 17,829 candidates trying their luck in the electoral field. Preparations for which have been completed.

A day before the polling on 24th July, i.e. on 23rd July, the remaining 5,318 polling parties also left at 11 am. Which will reach their polling stations by late night of 23rd July.

In the first phase, voting will be held on 24th July for 17,839 candidates. Under the first phase, 2,247 candidates are in the fray for the post of Gram Panchayat member, 9,731 candidates for the post of Pradhan Gram Panchayat, 4,980 for the post of regional panchayat member and 871 candidates for the post of Zilla Panchayat member.
