Uttarakhand’s draft electoral roll released; errors found in forms of 19 lakh voters; notices to be issued

The first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process in Uttarakhand began on June 8 and concluded on July 7. Following the compilation of the voter list, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer released the draft electoral roll today, July 14. The released draft roll lists 7,133,785 voters in the state, comprising 3,723,614 men, 3,409,954 women, and 217 third-gender voters.

Notably, errors were found in the forms of approximately 19 lakh of these voters; consequently, notices will be issued to them. The process of issuing notices and resolving claims and objections will take place from July 14 to September 11, 2026.

In accordance with the schedule issued by the Election Commission of India, the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer released the draft electoral roll after the completion of the first phase of the SSR in Uttarakhand. Additional Chief Electoral Officer Vijay Kumar Jogdande stated that the names of 7,133,785 voters have been included in the draft roll following the completion of this phase. The SIR process is being conducted based on the qualifying date of July 1, 2026.
