Not much weather change expected in Uttarakhand till August 20

Yellow alert has been issued for rain in seven districts of Uttarakhand. There is an alert of light to moderate rain in other districts. Such weather is likely to continue across the state till August 20. According to Meteorological Director Dr. Bikram Singh, there is a possibility of lightning accompanied by heavy rain at many places in Doon, Tehri, Pauri, Nainital, Bageshwar, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts.

This type of weather will continue till August 20. There may be an increase in rains after August 20. There is also warning about landslides, rockslides, waterlogging and closure of roads.

According to the data of the Meteorological Department, Dehradun and Bageshwar districts of the state have received maximum rainfall so far. Doon has received 1608.1 mm of rain, which is 56 per cent more than normal. Bageshwar district has received 174 per cent more rainfall than normal. So far 1561.4 mm of rain has been recorded in the district. Haridwar recorded 80 per cent rainfall above normal. So far the district has received 1236 mm of rain.
