Orange alert has been issued for heavy rain, lightning in many districts today. Those districts include Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh. The Meteorological Department says that lightning can also fall in these districts. There may be heavy landslides at some places. Roads may also be blocked. Director of Meteorological Center Dehradun, Bikram Singh has appealed to the people to beware of sensitive areas and sensitive highways and seasonal rivers in the mountainous region. Instructions have also been given to keep an eye on the settlements on the banks of rivers. Teams have been given the task to move people to safer places when the water level of the rivers rises.
