Orange weather alert in Uttarakhand ahead of New Year

Cold and chilly conditions are increasing across the state, particularly in the plains. The continued drop in temperatures may increase the chill in the morning and evening. The IMD has warned people to wear warm clothing and take necessary precautions when leaving home to avoid health problems.
The weather in the Himalayan regions has been relatively harsh, and the cold is felt even more in the mountains, with the possibility of freezing and frost. Night temperatures are expected to be even lower in higher reaches, requiring local residents and travellers to exercise extra caution.
