Antibodies have been made to fight corona in 73.1 percent of the samples tested in Uttarakhand. This has been revealed in the fourth sero survey of the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Under the survey, in the beginning of July, the Covid antibody tests of 401 people of Uttarakhand were done. Out of which antibodies were found in 293 people. Uttarakhand ranked sixth in terms of Covid antibodies. The highest antibody was found in Madhya Pradesh (79 percent). This was followed by people from Rajasthan (76.2 percent) and Bihar (75.9 percent).

The lowest antibodies (44.4 percent) were found in people from Kerala and (50.3 percent) in Assam. So far ICMR has done four blood sero surveys. In which blood is tested to find out how many people have antibodies against Covid-19. It also shows what percentage of the population has been exposed to the Covid virus. Even before this, ICMR has conducted three sero surveys across the country, in which the percentage of antibodies found has been very low.

What is sero survey

When the virus attacks the body, the body’s immune system makes antibodies to fight against it. This antibody stays in the body for about two months. To detect this antibody, sero survey is done through blood sample. If a person has made antibodies in the body then they have recently been infected with the virus.

Corona increasing in states with less sero percentage

In sero survey, less antibodies have been found in Kerala, Assam and Maharashtra. These are the states where the number of corona patients is increasing very rapidly every day. On the other hand, if we talk about Uttarakhand, at present the number of corona patients getting daily has been reduced to double digits only.

Sero survey is done on the basis of antibodies which decrease after some time. That is why it is necessary that all precautions should be taken regarding Covid.
