Stampede on Mansa Devi temple road, six dead, CM Dhami meets the injured

A major accident has occurred due to stampede on the Mansa Devi temple road in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. Six people are reported to have died in the stampede. There are also reports of many people being badly injured. Relief and rescue operations are going on at the spot. After the accident, police and administration teams immediately started taking the injured to hospitals. At the same time, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced compensation for the families of the deceased and the injured. Along with this, a helpline number has also been issued. At the same time, CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached Haridwar at around two o’clock and inquired about the condition of the injured in the hospital.

According to the information, around nine o’clock on Sunday morning, someone spread a rumor of electric current spreading among the devotees climbing the temple, due to which there was a stampede among the devotees. In the chaos, people fell on each other. Many devotees were buried amidst the screams.

As soon as the information was received, police and administrative teams reached the spot and relief and rescue work was started. The injured have been admitted to the nearest hospital. The situation is under control, but there is an atmosphere of panic in the area due to the accident.

Garhwal Divisional Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey told the media that a stampede broke out after a huge crowd gathered at the Mansa Devi temple in Haridwar. Many people have also been injured.
