On the other hand, the opposition is demanding to extend the duration of the session.

Opposition demands extension of session

In the assembly monsoon session, Congress has objected to keeping the duration of the session short. Congress will raise this issue under Rule 310 on Wednesday. Leader of Opposition Yashpal Arya said that for the last two years the House has been able to function hardly for 10 to 12 days in a year. Whereas as per rules the House should function for sixty days in a year.

He said that this time also the government has convened the House for only four days, in this also only two days will be available for actual work. Arya said that the MLAs of the parties and the opposition have raised more than six hundred questions for the House. How will these questions be answered in two days? Not only this, the opposition wants to raise issues like removal of encroachment campaign, recruitment scam, unemployment, disaster management etc in the House.
