Uttarakhand cabinet approves fifth and eighth class education reforms

In Uttarakhand, the obligation to pass students in fifth and eighth grade has been abolished. Upon failure, students will be given two months of preparation. Despite this, if not passed, then they will not be promoted to the next class.

The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting held at the Secretariat on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat. Giving information about the decision, cabinet minister and government spokesperson Madan Kaushik said that the government has made this amendment in the Uttarakhand Free Compulsory Child Education Rights Rules. The central government has already amended it.

Kaushik said that in the fifth and eighth grade, if no students are able to pass now, then they will be given two months for preparation through the District Education Officer. If even then they are not able to pass then they will not be promoted in to the next class.

Governor Baby Rani Maurya’s address will be on the first day of the session. After this, the budget will be presented. Then department-wise, this will be discussed in the House. According to sources, the state budget may be above 50,000 crore this time. The state had a budget of 48,000 crore last year.
