Cases of corona infection are increasing in Uttarakhand. On Thursday, 298 new cases were reported in the state. The maximum number of 68 cases came from Dehradun. Apart from this, 56 Udham Singh Nagar, 38 Haridwar, 34 Uttarkashi, 33 Nainital, 30 Tehri, 21 Bageshwar, nine Chamoli while two cases each came from Pauri and Pithoragarh. At the same time, the number of corona infected has now increased to 8552 in the state, out of which 5427 patients have fully recovered. Currently 3989 cases are active, while 98 people have died. Apart from this, 38 patients have gone out of the state.
Corona creeps into government offices in Uttarakhand
In terms of corona, new challenges are being created for Uttarakhand at every interval. The spread of the virus has started reaching government offices. Corona has shown its presence in several departments including the secretariat, police headquarters and tourism. Corona has been confirmed in the Collectorate’s Administrative Officer and Health Inspector of the Municipal Corporation in Dehradun on Wednesday. In Uttarkashi and Dehradun, 34 ITBP and three army personnel have been found infected in Chamoli.

Backlog of pending results increases
The backlog of corona sample results has started increasing again. As per the health bulletin issued on 6th August results of 9091 samples are awaited. There are 4 districts in the state where results of more than 1000 samples are awaited. Haridwar has the maximum number of samples pending-1938.
