Uttarakhand Government reduces rates for Corona testing

Coronavirus infection testing in Uttarakhand has become affordable. The government has reduced rates of RT-PCR test. In this, the screening rates have been reduced by 600 to 900 rupees per sample. Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Secretary Health, has issued a new rate order.

The government had earlier earmarked Rs 2000 and Rs 2400 for the RT PCR test for the corona infection test. At present, the government has also lowered the test rates due to the low cost of test kits. According to the order issued by the government, if samples from government and private hospitals are sent to private pathology labs for examination, then Rs 1400 per sample will be collected.

If private labs take the samples of the patient themselves, then in the plain areas Rs 1500 per sample has been fixed. These rates will be applicable in Dehradun, Haridwar, Udham Singh Nagar District Headquarters, Vikasnagar, Doiwala, Rishikesh, Sahaspur and Haldwani, Ramnagar, Kaladhungi and Lalkuan areas of Nainital district.

In the remaining hilly areas of the state, Rs 1680 will be taken per sample. GST is also included in the new rates fixed by the government. The government has given relief to the people undergoing tests in private pathology labs by lowering the rates of RTPCR examination. While the patients are being examined for free in government labs.
