Uttarakhand weather update: Humidity in plains increases people’s woes

In most areas including Dehradun, there is partial cloud cover and mild sunshine. The heat is making it difficult for the people due to the increased humidity. However, one to two rounds of light to moderate rainfall are occurring in Doon and surrounding areas. But in the last one week, the rainfall has been much less than normal.

There may be heavy rainfall at some places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital and Bageshwar today by the Meteorological Department. A yellow alert has been issued for this. There is a possibility of partial cloud cover and drizzle in other districts.

Sunshine in the plains

Clouds are hovering in Uttarakhand, but the period of rainfall is slow. From the mountains to the plains, there are light to very light showers at some places. In the plains, the humid heat is making people miserable due to the sunshine amidst partial clouds. In the last one week, half the normal rainfall was recorded across the state. Due to which the temperature is also above normal in most areas.

According to Bikram Singh, Director of Meteorological Center, there may be partial cloud cover in most areas of the state today. Light to moderate rainfall may occur in other districts except Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places in Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital and Bageshwar districts. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at some places in most parts of the state on Wednesday and Thursday. Orange alert has been issued for very heavy rainfall in Pithoragarh and Bageshwar.
