Uttarakhand weather update: Rain alert for these districts for next 2 days

A yellow alert has been issued in all the districts of Uttarakhand due to the possibility of heavy rain on Monday-Tuesday i.e August 4 and 5. During this time, very heavy rain is expected in Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar in Kumaon division. An orange alert has been issued for these districts. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has advised to be cautious in view of the rising water level of rivers and the danger of landslides. After the alert by the weather department, the district administration of Dehradun declared holiday in all schools upto class XII in the district on August 4.
Alert for two days of heavy rain
Dr. Rohit Thapliyal, Director-in-charge of the Meteorological Center in Dehradun, said on Sunday that there will be heavy rain across the state for two days. For this, an alert has been sent to all the districts and disaster management. At the same time, people have also been warned to avoid traveling and not to go near rivers and streams.
The Disaster Management Department said that the Meteorological Department has issued an alert till August 5. In view of this, the Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pauri and US Nagar district administration have been instructed to be extra cautious. Rajesh Kumar, Under Secretary, Duty Incharge, State Emergency Operations Center asked the said districts to exercise extra caution.
