Weather update: Dense fog warning in six districts including Doon

The lack of rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand is directly affecting temperatures. The absence of rain and snowfall has caused dry cold across the state. Cold waves and frost in the mountainous regions, while fog in the plains, have exacerbated the difficulties.
According to the forecast issued by the Meteorological Center, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in the plain districts of Dehradun, Udham Singh Nagar, Haridwar, as well as Nainital, Champawat, and Pauri on January 9th. Although the sunshine during the day is providing some relief from the cold in the mountainous regions, there is little hope of relief from the dry cold at this time. In the coming days, the weather is expected to remain dry throughout the state until January 14th.
Reflecting on Thursday’s data, the maximum temperature remained around normal due to the sunny day, while the minimum night temperature remained below normal. The maximum day temperature in Dehradun was recorded at 21.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal. The night’s minimum temperature was 4.4 degrees, two degrees below normal. Similar conditions prevailed in other areas of the state.
