India secured their second consecutive victory against New Zealand in the ongoing T20 series. On Friday, Team India defeated the Kiwis by 7 wickets. Flexing their batting prowess, the men in blue chased down the target of 209 runs in 15.2 overs, losing only 3 wickets. With this win, India has taken a 2-0 lead in the five-match series. The third match will be played in Guwahati on January 25th.
At the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium in Raipur, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav played an unbeaten innings of 82 runs off 37 balls. Ishan Kishan scored 76 runs off 32 balls. The two shared a 122-run partnership. Openers Abhishek Sharma was dismissed for zero and Sanju Samson for 6 runs.
After losing the toss and batting first, New Zealand scored 208 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. New Zealand captain Mitchell Santner played an unbeaten innings of 47 runs. Rachin Ravindra scored 44 runs. Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets for India. Ishan Kishan was declared Player of the Match.
