37 dead in shopping center fire in Russia

A fire broke out in a shopping mall in the Siberian city of Kemerovo, Russia. Due to the fire, 37 people have died. It is being told that more than 69 people are still missing or trapped inside.

According to Russian media, most of the missing people are include children. The name of this mall is the Winter Cherry Mall, its fourth floor is engulfed by a huge fire. Attempts to control the fire are going on continuously, but still there is a big smoke plume in the building.

According to the agency, the fire in the shopping mall was spread near the children’s playground. It is being told that a child used lighter, which led to the fire. However, second reports are also coming out that the fire was caused due to short circuit. However, there is no official confirmation on what was the reason for the fire. According to the people there, there was no fire alarm in the mall.
To save their lives by fire, many people were seen jumping from the fourth floor. Kemerovo city is about 3600 km from Russia’s capital Moscow. There are more than 200 fire brigade personnel to extinguish the fire. Apart from ambulance, the police has also reached the spot.
According to News Agency AP, there are cinema halls and other entertainment facilities on the fourth floor of the shopping center. This is the reason that the number of people has been quite high there. Russian security forces have started investigating this matter. However, it is not yet known whether the death of people was caused by suffocating or burning.
