Dehradun: Renowned author Ruskin Bond launched his book, With Love from the Hills, read its excerpts and interacted with the students of various public schools at Bookstore in Mussoorie on Saturday.

The students asked him questions about writers, writing, living in India and what was it like to be a student in his days.

Upendra Arora of Natraj Bookshop spoke about encouraging reading and how Bond’s books are the best way to get children to start reading and how before the parents know it, the children are addicted. He also spoke about the link between readers and leaders, to which Bond added, while interacting with the students, that one must keep reading, learning and writing and not be disillusioned but stay motivated.

The octogenarian author has written several novels and short stories. He was recently awarded Padma Bhushan for his contribution to literature and education in India. His recent books include Love among the Bookshelves, A Garland of Memories and Tales from Fosterganj, apart from With Love from the Hills that was launched on Saturday. Bond now lives in the queen of hills- Mussoorrie.
