IPL 2020: 2 matches, 3 superover, 2 winners in 1 day

KXIP vs MI is the first time in the history of IPL when 3 superovers were seen in a single day. The 35th match of IPL 2020 was a tie between Hyderabad and KKR, after which KKR won in the Superover. In the second superover played between Punjab (KXIP Vs MI 2nd Super Over) and Mumbai, Mumbai Indians (MI) batted first, this time Hardik Pandya and Pollard started the Mumbai innings, with Chris Jordan bowling . On the last ball, Pollard tried to hit a six in the air but on the boundary Mayank Agarwal made a great fielding effort and Mumbai got only 2 runs where 6 runs were supposed to be. Mumbai scored 11 for 1 in the second superover. Now Punjab had to score 12 runs off 6 balls to win in the second superover.

For Punjab Universe Boss aka Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal opened in the second super over because KL Rahul and Nicolos Pooran had been dismissed in the first super over hence they were not eligible to bat. Trent Boult had the task of defending 11 runs for MI. The 41 year old Gayle smashed the first delivery above the bowler for a straight six soothing the nerves in the Punjab camp. After taking a single of the next ball, Mayank Agarwal hit consecutive fours to seal the win and secure 2 points for KXIP.
