Buses torched in Delhi over Citizenship Amendment Bill protests

The politics of Delhi has also been hot on the incident of arson and sabotage in Jamia to protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC. BJP state president Manoj Tiwari tweeted that the Aam Aadmi Party MLA is provoking the public at the behest of CM Kejriwal.

At the same time, AAP MLA Amanatullah said that he was not present in the place where the violence took place. SHO Shaheen Bagh was present on the spot. Video recording and CCTV of the program are also available. On the other hand, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal strongly condemned the arson and sabotage incident. Kejriwal said, no one should be involved in violence. Violence of any kind is unacceptable. The protests should be peaceful.

According to sources, the police entered Jamia Millia Islamia University and detained some students. However, information about how many people have been taken into custody has not been found.

Earlier, students protesting against the Citizenship Amendment Act and NRC became furious. It is alleged that students and locals of Jamia, who were protesting near New Friends Colony, set fire to DTC buses parked on the roadside. Apart from this, a car was also set on fire by the protesters.

Fire extinguisher was also vandalized in a firearm department vehicle. The protesters also threw stones at the police. Two firefighters were injured due to stone pelting. A large number of police forces are deployed on the spot.

Police lathi-charged to disperse the protesters. Tear-gas shells have also been released to pelt stone-pelting protesters.

Sukhdev Vihar metro station closed

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has completely closed the Sukhdev Vihar Metro station in view of the demonstration on the advice of the police. Both entry and exit are closed here. While Gate number three of the Ashram metro station has also been closed. The train is not stopping at Sukhdev Vihar metro station.
