Support pours in for ‘midnight running boy’ Pradeep Mehra

People are now coming forward to help Pradeep Mehra of Uttarakhand, who has entered the hearts of millions of people by becoming the headlines of internet media overnight with his passion and dedication. The prominent name that has come up among the helpers is retired Lieutenant General Satish Dua. The General Officer was the Kashmir Corps Commander during the ‘surgical strike’ in September 2016. General Dua has spoken to the Colonel of the Kumaon Regiment, Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen Rana Kalita to help Pradeep. So that Pradeep’s dream of joining the Indian Army could be fulfilled.

 

What did General Dua say?

Retired Lt Gen Satish Dua, retweeting filmmaker Vinod Kapri’s tweet, wrote that ‘Pradeep’s spirit is commendable. I have interacted with Lt Gen Rana Kalita, Colonel of the Kumaon Regiment and Commander of the Eastern Army, to help them train for recruitment test on the basis of his merit. He is making every effort to train the youth for recruitment in his regiment.’

What is the whole matter?

Former journalist and  national award winning filmmaker Vinod Kapri shared a video on his Twitter account of a youth running with a backpack on the road in Noida at 12 o’clock on the night of March 19. In which he is driving while interacting with the teenager. He slows down the car and offers him a lift. But he refuses. Pradeep told that he wants to join the army. He does not get a chance to prepare in the morning, so he does his practice in the same way at night. Everynight the 19 year old runs for 10 kilometers to fulfill his dream of joining the army. He repeatedly refused the lift saying that it would break his routine. Millions of people saw it as soon as the video was shared on Twitter, thousands of people are sharing it.
