Rajasthan becomes the first state to guarantee minimum income

The Rajasthan Minimum Income Guarantee Bill was passed after debate in the assembly. Under this, apart from 100 days of MNREGA, 25 days of employment will be guaranteed in urban and rural areas in Rajasthan. It will be mandatory to increase the social security pension by 15 percent every year. Social security pension of all categories including elderly, widow, disabled will be increased by 15 percent every year.

Through this bill, the government is guaranteeing at least 25 days of extra employment to every person above 18 years of age living in rural areas on completion of 100 days. If you do not get employment for 25 days, then after 15 days (fortnight) the minimum wages will have to be paid. Employment for 25 days will be guaranteed in villages and cities as well. Failure to do so will result in unemployment allowance. There is also a provision that the place of employment should be within a radius of 5 kilometers from his house.

Pension will increase every year by guarantee

Now it will be legally necessary to increase the pension of about one crore people taking social security pension in the state by 15 percent every year. In this bill, there will be a provision to implement the Mahatma Gandhi Minimum Guarantee Scheme Act. The Minimum Income Guarantee Scheme will include a provision for giving pension of at least Rs 1000 every month to elderly, widow, single women. There will be a provision to provide employment for 125 days under MNREGA in villages and cities. The government has made provision of Rs 2500 crore extra budget for this scheme.

Guaranteed social security pension, 15% increase every year

Old age, specially abled, widow, single women come under the purview of social security pension guarantee. Social security pension guarantee will be increased at the rate of 15 per cent on every year basis from 2024-25. The pension will increase in two installments in a year. Every year 5 percent pension will increase in July and 10 percent pension in January.

Life imprisonment for those found guilty of paper leak

Now those who leak the papers of recruitment examinations in Rajasthan will be punished till life imprisonment. The bill was passed after a debate in the assembly on Friday. Earlier the guilty were punished with a minimum of 5 years and a maximum of 10 years.

In the Prevention of Unfair Means Amendment Bill in Rajasthan Public Examination Recruitment, paper leakers will be fined at least 10 lakh to 10 crores. In case of non-payment of fine, he will have to undergo additional imprisonment of two years.
