Drishyam 2 becomes Ajay Devgn’s third highest grossing movie

It’s been 22 days since the release of Drishyam 2 but the film’s earnings are still unstoppable. The film has earned 196 crores so far and is now all set to join the 200 crore club. With this, Drishyam 2 has become Ajay Devgan’s third highest grosser. Next to Drishyam 2 is just Tanhaji and Golmaal Again. If Drishyam 2 continues to earn like this, soon it will leave behind the lifetime collection of Golmaal Again.

Ajay Devgn’s third biggest film

Despite the release of new films, there is not much difference in the earnings of Drishyam 2. The film’s collection is just a few steps away from touching the 200 crore mark. Drishyam 2 is the third highest grosser of Ajay Devgan’s career.

Earlier in 2020, the film Tanha Ji The Unsung Warrior had a lifetime collection of 279.55 crores. Earlier, his film Golmaal Again, which came in 2017, had a collection of 205.69 crores. Now with 196.46 crores, Drishyam 2 will be eyeing to break the record of Golmaal Again.

At the domestic box office, the film may not have touched the figure of 200 crores yet, but talking about the worldwide collection, it has so far collected a gross collection of 284.56 crores. Talking about the World Wide Collection, this film has come at number three among the highest-grossing Hindi films of this year (2022). The film is now trails behind Brahmastra (431 cr) and The Kashmir Files (341 cr).

Budget of 60 crores

The budget of Drishyam 2 was around 60 crores. The film collected 64 crores on the third day itself and took out the entire share of its budget. Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shreya Saran, Akshaye Khanna and Ishita Dutta are in the lead roles in this film directed by Abhishek Pathak.

The first part of the film was directed by Nishikant Kamat but he died due to a liver ailment, due to which the producer of the film, Abhishek Pathak, took over the direction of the film as well.

Drishyam 2 is the Hindi remake of the Malayalam film

Drishyam 2 is the Hindi remake of South’s superstar Mohanlal’s blockbuster Malayalam film Drishyam 2. The first part of Drishyam was also a Hindi remake of Mohanlal’s film of the same name. After the film was made in Malayalam, it was recreated in many languages. Both the Malayalam films were directed by Jeetu Joseph.
