Immediately after that the portal will block the phone by interacting with the online telecom operator and law enforcement agency.

Vaishnav said that only blocking the SIM is not a solution, it is necessary to block the phone. Along with this, anyone can check through this portal that how many SIMs are active in their name. If you see any such number in it which you have not taken, then you can block that too.

Till now the Center for Department of Telematics (C-DOT) was running a pilot project of this system in some telecom offices of Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and North-East region, which has now been rolled out across India.

Sanchar Saathi portal will also investigate mobile smuggling
