CES 2024: World’s first transparent TV unveiled

The biggest tech event of the year, Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 has started in Las Vegas, America. In this, South Korean company LG introduced the world’s first transparent OLED TV. Apart from this, products like flying car and 2 in 1 laptop have also been introduced.

More than 1.30 lakh people are expected to attend CES 2024. In this event which runs till January 12, more than 4000 companies from all over the world are showcasing modern electronic equipment. 35% of the companies participating in it are American.

South Korean company LG has introduced the world’s first transparent OLED TV. It has a 77-inch glass display. Due to this, the images displayed on the screen appear to be floating in the air. LG Signature OLED TV will be available globally later this year.

LG says that it becomes invisible when closed. The TV comes with a Zero Connect box, which transmits video and audio to the display panel on the TV with the help of wireless technology. Samsung has also introduced Micro LED-powered transparent TV at the event.

XPeng Aero HT has introduced its flying car at CES 2024. While sharing updates on the progress of this car, the company said that the car presented here will be mass produced in 2025. However, before that, the company will start pre-orders for the modular EV/ eVTOL combo from the fourth quarter of this year.

The fully-electric piloted aircraft is capable of vertical takeoff/landing and low altitude flights. It supports manual and autonomous flight modes. The 270° panoramic two-person cockpit offers a wide field of view.

Hyundai’s advanced air mobility company Supernaval unveiled its electric flying taxi at this year’s CES. The S-A2 is an electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) vehicle. The S-A2 is a V-tail electric aircraft that can fly at 120 mph at an altitude of 1,500 feet. It is designed for a journey of 50-60 Km.

It has eight tilting rotors and a distributed electric propulsion system. The company says it will “operate as quiet as a dishwasher” with 65 dB during vertical takeoff and landing and 45 dB during cruising. Supernaval plans to officially launch the vehicle in 2028.

Samsung introduced futuristic foldable phone. This is being called ‘flex in and out’. This concept device can rotate 360 degrees both forward and backward.

Samsung says that the panel of this foldable device has been folded and other tests have been done in temperatures ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. Basketballs were bounced on foldable panels and then dunked in water by rubbing them with sand.

Lenovo has introduced 2 in 1 laptop ‘ThinkBook Plus Gen 5 Hybrid’. In this, users will get Windows as well as Android operating system. When you use it in laptop mode, it will work like a laptop. As soon as you remove its display, it transforms into an Android tablet.
