Cloudy weather, intermittent rain bring some respite from scorching heat

After the change of weather in Uttarakhand, the process of light rain continues. For the third consecutive day, light rain was recorded at isolated places in the mountainous areas. Whereas, there was cloud cover in the plains.

Due to which some drop in temperature was also recorded. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain and hailstorm in some parts of the state on Tuesday. There is also a possibility of gusty winds in the plains during this time.

May begins with relief

May has started with relief after the absence of rains in March and April. The first day of the month ranged from partly cloudy to mostly cloudy in the mountainous areas.

Light to moderate rain occurred in many areas in the evening. Along with Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Tehri and Dehradun also received showers with strong winds at some places. In Kumaon also, there was light rain in Bageshwar and Pithoragarh.

Light rain may occur at isolated places

Due to the change of weather, a drop in the mercury has also been recorded. Especially in the plains, the mercury has decreased by one to two degrees Celsius. Due to which some relief was felt from the scorching heat.

According to Bikram Singh, Director of the Meteorological Center, light rain may occur at isolated places in the state today, there is a possibility of strong winds in the plains. Whereas, on Tuesday, there may be heavy rain and hailstorm in the mountainous areas. Whereas, there is a possibility of thunderstorms in the plains at a speed of 70 kmph.
