‘Once in a 1000 years’ ICMR on coronavirus transmission probability from bats to humans

The corona virus is found in bats, but it is a virus of bats, it cannot come in humans. A spokesman for the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) told today during a daily briefing on corona that this is a big thing if the occurrence of coronavirus in humans from bats happens once in a thousand years.

He said, ‘Bats are of two types. Coronavirus was found in them, but it is a virus of bats. It cannot enter a human being. Evevn if it  is possible it is a once in a thousand years occurrence. The spokesman said, ‘Coronavirus is also found inside bats. Research in China has shown that the the virus may have come directly from batss or into humans through an animal Pangolin.

The ICMR reported that the mutation of virus was developed in bats, such that it could be transmissible in humans. The virus evolved to cause harm to humans.

Instructions to the districts for intensive campaign

At the same time, after extending the lockdown deadline till May 3, the government is also strengthening the Covid-19 management across the country. Health Ministry spokesman Luv Agarwal said that districts have been instructed to prepare special Covid centers. They have been told to make a strong system of clinical management. Agarwal said, ‘The districts which are still untouched by the virus, keep trying to keep those districts away from infection. Failure of one district can lead to failure of the whole country’.

On the other hand, a spokesman of the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the areas which will not be hotspots of virus infection will be given some relaxation from April 20. He said, ‘Today the Ministry of Home Affairs has today issued an order that whatever lockdown guidelines are issued, they have to be strictly followed.
