WHO concerned about fund shortage for fighting Ebloa

After Coronavirus, Ebola outbreak has also started increasing in some countries. The World Health Organization has warned about the lack of funding to fight the disease.

It was told by the World Health Organization that Ebola infection cases are increasing these days in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The organization says that this too is a fatal disease like coronavirus. Money will be required to fight it, because of this, the countries of the world should prepare to deal with it. The organization said that 56 such cases have been registered in Congo, which is more than the total number of cases reported in the last outbreak of the province in 2018.

According to WHO’s Regional Director for Africa, Dr. Matshidiso Moeiti, efforts to curb the coronavirus epidemic have complicated the response to the Ebola outbreak. “We should not let Covid-19 bother to deal with other pressing health hazards,” Moeiti said. The current Ebola outbreak continues in the headwinds as cases are scattered in remote areas in dense rainforests.

The WHO said in a statement that it has raised $ 1.75 million to deal with the Ebola outbreak that was announced 1 June. But it will only last a few more weeks. Moeiti called for additional funding to help with vaccination, testing, contact tracing, treatment and health education. Deaths due to Ebola are also increasing.

Dr. Michael Ryan, executive director of the WHO’s Emergency Health Program, has worked extensively on Ebola, saying on Monday that there were 17 confirmed deaths and three suspected cases of confirmed Ebola cases by Sunday.

He said that the number of people dying from this infection is low now, but the risk of their spread is quite high. Health workers are unable to locate these infected patients by going to remote areas. Many people are infected but they are not coming out due to this, their exact number is not known, but it is certain that like Corona, the number of patients infected with Ebola is increasing.
