Kriti Sanon, Ranveer Singh win best actress and actor at 67th Filmfare Awards

Ranveer Singh and Kriti Sanon won the title of Best Actor and Best Actress at the 67th Filmfare Awards 2022. Filmmare Awards were given on Tuesday. Ranveer was given this award for essaying character of former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev in Kabir Khan’s ’83. At the same time, Kriti was given the Best Actress Award for playing a surrogate mother in the critically acclaimed film ‘Mimi’. Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra starrer ‘Shershaah’ was awarded the Best Film Award.

Vishnuvardhan directed ‘Shershaah’. The film was based on the life of Captain Vikram Batra, who was martyred in the Kargil War. Vishnuvardhan received the Best Director Award for the film. In ‘Shershaah’, Sidharth Malhotra was seen playing a double role as Vikram Batra and his twin brother Vishal Batra. Many big stars including Javed Jaffrey and Shiv Pandit were seen in the film.

Pankaj Tripathi and Sai Tamhankar were awarded for Best Supporting Actor and Actress for Laxman Utekar’s ‘Mimi’. In the Critics category, Vicky Kaushal won the Best Critics Actor Award for his stellar performance in ‘Sardar Udham’. He played the role of revolutionary leader Udham Singh in the film, who shot Michael O’Dwyer in London to avenge the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.

Vidya Balan receives Critics’ Choice Award

Sardar Udham was also declared the best film in the critics category. Apart from this, Vidya Balan was awarded the Best Critic Actress Award for ‘Sherni’. In the film, Vidya was seen playing the role of Vidya Vincent, a forest officer who, while leading a team of trackers and locals, intends to capture a dreaded tigress.
