Pair of Nike shoes auctioned for $ 437500

A pair of global brand Nike shoes were sold for $ 4,37,500 (i.e. 3.6 crore rupees) during the auction. At the Sotheby’s Auctions in New York, these shoes have broken the record of the shoes sold in any public auction.

In the auction, when the price of this decades old shoes was set up at over Rs 3 crore, all those present there were shocked. Shoes of various companies from Adidas to Air Jordan were put up for auction in New York.

These running shoes, known as Moon Shoe, were made in 1972 and were designed by Nike co-founders and track coach Bill Bowerman himself. Nike designed these shoes for Olympic trials 47 years ago, the company made it in the early stages.

According to Sothbey, Canadian investor Miles Nadal bought this shoe of NIKE by making a historical bid. Apart from this, he bought 99 other rare shoes in the auction. Miles Nadal, the media reports, had bid 5.86 crores for a total of 100 pairs of shoes.

Miles Nadal’s is the founder of investment firm Peerless Capital, Nadal is very happy after buying these shoes by making such a big bid. He said that by buying these shoes he has worked to preserve sport history.

According to media reports, this was the biggest bid for the set of old shoes. Earlier, Michael Jordan’s shoes were auctioned for 1.3 million rupees. These Converse Shoes were sold during the auction in California in 2017. According to information, these shoes were worn by Michael Jordan in the 1984 Olympic Basketball Finals.

Significantly, New York’s Sotheby’s Auction House is known for selling the finest and priceless works of art. These shoes, sold in more than 3 million, are one of the 12 pairs of shoes made in 1972, it was made by hand.
