Uttarakhand weather update: Snowfall in Kedarnath and Yamunotri; rains in lower regions

In Uttarakhand, the weather changed after noon and snowfall started in the high mountain areas. There was snowfall in Kedarnath and Yamunotri Dham. At the same time, strong thunderstorms occurred in the low-lying areas. After the snowfall, the cold has increased in the Chardhams.

The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of rain in the hilly areas of the state and snowfall in the high altitude areas in the next four days. According to the Meteorological Department, till April 30, there is a possibility of snowfall along with very light rain in some places of Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh and in the rest of the districts.

Yellow alert issued

According to the Meteorological Center, on April 27 and 28, the weather patterns will be disturbed in the hilly districts of the state and on April 29 and 30 from the mountains to the plains. There seems to be no hope of respite from rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand for the next few days. The State Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms with rain-snowfall, hailstorm and strong gusty winds till April 30.

According to the Meteorological Department, on April 29 and 30, there is a possibility of a change in the weather patterns in the hilly areas as well as in the plains. Yellow alert has been issued especially in some places of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar districts for light rain-snowfall and lightning at some places in the rest of the hilly districts.
