PM Modi to be conferred with Russia’s highest civilian award

Delegation level talks are taking place in Vladivostok between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin. PM Modi said during this time, ‘Your invitation to Eastern Economic Forum is a great honor for me. This is a historic opportunity to give a new dimension to the support between the two countries. Russia’s highest civilian award will be conferred on PM Modi

During this time he also said, ‘You have announced that I will be awarded the highest civilian award of Russia. I thank you and the people of Russia. It shows the friendly relations between the people of our 2 countries. This is an honor for 130 crore Indians.’

Russia is a trusted partner

PM Modi said during this time ‘Russia is a friend of India as well as a trusted partner. You have personally focused on expanding our special and privileged strategic partnership. We have been meeting regularly as 2 integral friends. I have spoken to you on many issues over the telephone, I have never hesitated.’

Visited Shipbuilding Complex

Earlier, PM Modi met with Russian President Vladimir Putin. The two leaders met and warmly hugged and then visited the Zvezda Shipbuilding Complex and saw some exhibitions here. Zvezda is Russia’s largest shipbuilding complex. There will be bilateral talks between the two today. Earlier, the two leaders had met each other at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) meeting in Kyrgyzstan’s capital, Bishkek.

PM Modi got guard of honor

Earlier on his two-day visit, PM Modi reached Vladivostok city of Russia at 4:30 am on Wednesday. PM Modi was given the Guard of Honor at Vladivostok International Airport in the presence of Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov.

First PM to visit Russia’s Far East region

PM Modi is the first Prime Minister of the country to visit the Far East Region of Russia. During the PM’s visit, the two countries will consider deepening cooperation in the strategic areas of defense, civil nuclear energy and peaceful use of space.

India-Russia annual conference today

The Prime Minister also told on his official website that he will also attend the 20th India-Russia Annual Conference with President Putin on Wednesday. He said that the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF) has immense power to develop. This platform will give India an opportunity to increase international cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region.
