Argentina wins Copa America after 28 years

Lionel Messi-led Argentina has created history in the Copa America 2021. Argentina has won the title by defeating Brazil. Argentina beat Brazil 1-0. This is the first time since 1993 that Argentina has managed to win the Copa America title. Along with this, Lionel Messi has also been successful in getting Argentina a big title on the international stage for the first time.

It was a very tough competition between Brazil and Argentina. But Argentina took an early lead and managed to become the Copa America champion after a long gap of 28 years. For Argentina, star striker Di Maria scored in the 22nd minute to give the team the lead and that proved to be the deciding factor in the end.

However, attempts were made from Brazil to return to the match. Brazil was attacking Argentina continuously after falling behind by a goal. Brazil kept the ball for 60 percent of the time of the match. But could not manage to score and lost the match.

Messi’s dream came true

This is Argentina’s first major victory under Messi. With this victory, Messi’s dream of getting Argentina a big title at the international level has also been fulfilled. Earlier, under Messi’s leadership, Argentina’s team had managed to make it to the 2014 World Cup final. But Germany did not allow the dream of the world’s number one footballer to be fulfilled.

Messi was so broken after the loss of the 2016 Copa Cup final that he announced his international retirement. But on the appeal of the fans, Messi returned. Argentina’s performance in the 2018 World Cup was disappointing. But now by winning the Copa America final, Messi finally put a big title in Argentina’s bag.
