On the fourth day of the special session of Parliament, the Women’s Reservation Bill (Nari Shakti Vandan Bill) was passed unanimously in the Rajya Sabha. No one voted against the bill. Now this bill will be sent to the President. This will become law as soon as it gets approval from the President. This bill was passed in the Lok Sabha yesterday (Wednesday). After completion of the process, women will get 33% reservation in Lok Sabha and Assemblies.

PM had appealed to pass the bill unanimously

Prime Minister Modi said in the Rajya Sabha on Thursday that ‘the very important bill was discussed in detail. About 132 members had a very meaningful discussion in both the houses and every word of this discussion will be useful in future. Therefore every thing has its own importance and value. All the MPs have expressed their support for this bill in the beginning. In such a situation, I express my heartfelt gratitude to all the members.’
