The Kashmir Files Movie Tax Free in Uttarakhand

The Kashmir Files has been made tax free in Uttarakhand. The Chief Secretary of the state has been instructed by acting CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, under which it has now been decided to make this film tax free. Some shooting of the film Kashmir Files has also been done in Uttarakhand. The director and all the actors associated with it are excited by the success of this film. After Haryana, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka and Goa, Tripura, now the Uttarakhand government has also made the film tax free. Overall, Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ has been made tax free in 6 states so far. Along with this, screening of this film will also be done in Karnataka.

What it means for a movie to be Tax Free

When a film is declared tax free by the state, it waives off the state GST share of the entire ticket. In the form of Central GST, the tax has to be paid by the audience.
