Temperature continues to rise; crosses 45°C in Rajasthan

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday released the list of the hottest cities in the country, in which Alwar in Rajasthan has been described as the hottest. The temperature recorded here is 45.8°C. On the other hand, mercury has crossed the 44 mark in 17 cities of Saurashtra, Gujarat, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, Marathwada, West Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Punjab and Jharkhand.

Orange alert in 10 cities of Rajasthan

Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued a heat wave alert in the state till April 11. Apart from Barmer, Sri Ganganagar, Jaisalmer, Orange alert has been issued for these cities, issuing heat wave warnings in Banswara, Baran, Dungarpur, Sawai Madhopur, Tonk, Jhunjhunu, Bundi and Kota.

Mercury will cross 44 in 6 districts of Uttar Pradesh

In Uttar Pradesh, the heat wave is impacting daily lives of people. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of severe heat in the state till April 12. In the first week of April itself, the mercury has crossed 40° in many cities including Lucknow, Meerut, Prayagraj, Varanasi, Gorakhpur. In Meerut on Thursday, the heat broke the record of the last 42 years. The maximum temperature here was recorded at 39.4°C.
