Snowfall in Chardham; rains in the plain intensifies cold Uttarakhand

The weather is turning again in Uttarakhand. There is a cloud cover all over Uttarakhand. At the same time, the hills of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri received snow in the morning. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain from the mountain in the plains. This will cause a drop in temperature.

Since Thursday morning, there has been a cloudy sky in the districts of Garhwal and Kumaon. In many places, the head lights of the vehicles were also switched on due to darkness on the roads. There was also snow in the hills around Gangotri and Yamunotri in Uttarkashi district. At the same time, snowfall started in Badrinath and Kedarnath by noon.

Light drizzle was also witnessed at many places in the plains including Haridwar and Dehradun. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of light rain from the mountains to the plains. At the same time, snowfall will continue in high altitude areas. Areas above 3500 meters are expected to experience more snowfall.

There has been no rain in the state since September 29. Meanwhile, only Nainital and Chamoli districts received one to two millimeters of rain. Due to no rain for 39 days, the moisture in the fields is decreasing and the dust particles in the air are reaching a higher height.

The Meteorological Center says that due to the absence of rain, the difference in day and night temperatures is being observed, which is not considered beneficial for the growth of crops. On Wednesday, the maximum temperature of Doon was recorded two degrees above normal at 29.2 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature was recorded one degree above normal at 13.6 degrees Celsius.
