13 year old Momiji Nishiya becomes Japan’s youngest Olympic gold medalist

Japan’s 13-year-old Momiji Nishaya created history at the Tokyo Olympics on Monday. She became the youngest player to win a gold medal at the grandest stage for Japan. She won the gold medal in the women’s individual skateboard event at the age of 13 years and 330 days. At 13, Momiji also became the first athlete to win Olympic gold in skateboarding. For the first time skateboard has been included in this Olympics. Brazil’s Rayssa Leal won the silver medal in this event. She is also 13 years old. The bronze medal was won by 16 year old Funa Nakayama of Japan.

57 year old wins Bronze in Skeet

By winning an Olympic medal at the age of 57, Al-Rashidi set an example at the age at which people are often too busy making plans for a ‘retired’ life, Abdullah Al-Rashidi from Kuwait showed the world by winning a bronze medal in shooting at the Tokyo Olympics thus proving age is just a figure. The seven-time Olympian on Monday won a bronze medal in the men’s skeet event at Olympic 2020. Not only this, after winning the medal, he also promised to target gold in Paris Olympics in 2024 when he would have crossed the age of 60.
