With this, Novak Djokovic captured the 19th Grand Slam title. 5th-ranked player Stefanos Tsitsipas got off to a great start by winning the first two sets 7-6, 6-2 but top seed Djokovic won the next two sets 6-3, 6-2 to take the mach in a deciding 5th set.

Won the final set 6-4

In the final set, Djokovic took the lead by breaking Tsitsipas’ serve in the third game and then held it to the end, winning the match and the title, winning the set 6-4. Djokovic had a chance to break the Greece player’s serve in the 5th game as well but he missed it. The Serbian player then won the 10th game by retaining his serve.

Heartbreak for Tsitsipas

Djokovic also broke Tsitsipas’s dream of becoming Greece’s first Grand Slam champion. Djokovic is now just one step away from equaling Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal’s record 20 Grand Slam titles. Tsitsipas, 22, had to undergo treatment from his trainer on the court itself after the third set during the match due to back pain.
