Massive fire breaks out in three bogies of New Delhi Darbhanga Express going from Delhi to Darbhanga, many passengers injured

A massive fire broke out in the New Delhi Darbhanga Express (02570) going from Delhi to Darbhanga near Sarai Bhopat railway station on Wednesday evening. A massive fire broke out in three bogies due to the explosion in the cylinder installed under the bogie. The fire caused panic among the passengers traveling in the train. At the same time, many fire department vehicles reached the spot and are trying to extinguish the fire in the train. Two passengers have sustained burn injuries in the accident.

According to the information, a sudden fire broke out in S1 bogie of Darbhanga Express near Sarai Bhopat railway station. Seeing the smoke rising in the moving train, there was panic among the passengers. Passengers saved their lives by jumping from the train. The accident happened near Sarai Bhopat railway station at 6 pm. It is being told that at that time the speed of the train was between 20 to 30 km. There were double the passengers in the bogie than its capacity. The fire engulfed three bogies. Coach S1 of the train was completely burnt.

Two passengers who sustained burn injuries in the accident have been admitted to the district hospital. According to the information, a large number of people had left for Bihar to celebrate Chhath Puja. Meanwhile, smoke started rising in the general coach of the train. Then there was panic among the people. During this time the train was about ten km from Etawah district headquarters.

As soon as the train slowed down, the passengers saved their lives by jumping. Within a few minutes the passengers vacated the entire train along with their luggage. Here, seeing the smoke rising in the bogie adjacent to the one in which the fire broke out, the passengers and the personnel deployed at the station started trying to extinguish the fire.
