A new express train between Lalkuan and Delhi was flagged off on Saturday by Nainital BJP MP Bhagat Singh Koshyari. The train will run two days a week on Tuesday and Thursday.

It will leave Lalkuan railway station at 4:30 AM and will arrive at Delhi’s Anand Vihar railway station at 11 AM. The passengers coming towards Lalkuan can board the train from Delhi at 2.05 PM and reach Lalkuan at 8.55 PM.

“The train is a gift from central government to the people of Kumaon. It will not only help the tourism industry flourish with the arrival of more tourists but will also give residents another option to travel to Delhi,” said Koshyari.

Demands had been rising in the past for an additional train on Delhi route from Kumaon division. Koshyari had met the union railway minister last year to request for a train to Delhi.
