Lt. General (Retd.) Gurmeet Singh takes oath as new governor of Uttarakhand

Lieutenant General (retd.) Gurmeet Singh, was sworn in as the new Governor of Uttarakhand on Wednesday. Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and key members of his cabinet were present during the swearing-in ceremony at Raj Bhavan during a formal ceremony. He was administered the oath by Chief Justice of the State High Court RS Chauhan in the swearing-in program at Raj Bhavan. During this, apart from CM Dhami and some of his ministers, special officers like Chief Secretary SS Sandhu and DGP Ashok Kumar were also present.

Earlier Baby Rani Maurya had resigned as the Governor of Uttarakhand. After her resignation, the name of Gurmeet Singh, who was awarded several medals and honors as the new governor of Uttarakhand, was announced. On Wednesday, Singh formally took oath as the Governor of Uttarakhand.
