Delhi records over 1000 new Corona cases

New cases of corona virus are increasing rapidly in the capital Delhi. During the last 24 hours, 1009 new corona cases have been reported in Delhi, which is the highest in the last 68 days. Before today, on February 10, 2022, 1104 patients were found in Delhi.

According to the bulletin of the Health Department, 17701 tests were conducted in Delhi on Tuesday in which 5.70 percent patients were found infected. At the same time, a corona patient also died during this period. Meanwhile, 314 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours. Now the number of active cases of corona in Delhi has increased to 2641. So far 18,70,692 people have been infected with Corona in Delhi. Of these, 18,41,890 patients were cured, while 26161 patients died due to corona. The death rate from corona in Delhi is 1.4 percent.

According to the Health Department, the number of active corona patients in Delhi has increased to 2641. Of these, 1578 patients are admitted in home isolation and 54 in hospitals. Of the patients admitted in hospitals, 17 are admitted in ICU, 16 patients are on oxygen support. However, amidst increasing cases in Delhi, the number of containment zones has come down to 617.

97 percent of the samples that died had the Omicron variant

On Wednesday, startling information about corona sampling has come to the fore. According to government data, 97 per cent samples of those who died of Covid in Delhi from January to March had the Omicron variant of the coronavirus. According to news agency PTI, genome sequencing of 578 samples collected from those who died of corona revealed that 560 of them had an Omicron variant. The remaining 18 (three per cent) had other variants of Kovid-19 including Delta. The delta is the same variant, which brought second wave in April and May last year.
