Dhanteras 2022: Know date, timings

Diwali festival begins with Dhanteras. Diwali is the great festival of Deepotsav which lasts for 5 days. According to the Hindu calendar, Diwali is celebrated on the new moon day of Krishna Paksha of Kartik month. This time there is a chance of auspicious shopping on Dhanteras for two days. According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Dhanteras is celebrated on the first day of Diwali. It is believed that on the date of Kartik Trayodashi, Lord Dhanvantari, the physician of the gods, appeared with a golden urn during the churning of the ocean. There is a tradition of buying gold and silver coins, jewellery and utensils on Dhanteras.

Dhanteras 2022 on two days 22 and 23 October

This time there is a difference of opinion between astrologers and priests regarding Dhanteras due to Trayodashi date being two days. Trayodashi Tithi is starting on 22nd October at 06:02 pm and will end on the next day i.e. 23rd October at 06.03 pm. So Dhanvantari Puja and auspicious shopping of Dhanteras can be done on both 22nd and 23rd October.

This time on Dhanteras, such an alignment of planets is seen on Dhanteras which is coming after about 178 years. On Dhanteras, Jupiter, the factor of wealth, and Saturn, the factor of justice and stability, will be present in their own zodiac. Jupiter will be present in its own sign Pisces and Saturn will be present in Capricorn. This time Tripushkar and Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed on Dhanteras. Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga will start on 23rd October at 6.32 am and will end at 2:33 pm. At the same time, Tripushkar Yoga will remain from 01:50 in the afternoon to 06.02 in the evening.
