Hearing against corrupt officials at Nainital HC after Diwali

A PIL has been filed in the High Court for taking action against the corrupt officers of Uttarakhand state. The High Court will hear the petition later after Diwali.

On behalf of the petitioner, 45 officers of the Sales Tax department (State Goods and Services Department) have been attached in the petition, which also includes an IAS officer.

Narayan Singh, a resident of Roorkee, filed a public interest petition saying that 45 officers of the Sales Tax Department have not only amassed benami properties, but have also accused the officials for tax evasion. In the petition, these officers have been accused of stealing more than ten thousand crore rupees annually.

In the petition, these officers have been asked to investigate the matter under the supervision of the High Court.
