Train services resume from Kathgodam railway station

Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in the entire state. Till Wednesday night, a total of 58 people have been reported dead in the state. Rain has wreaked maximum havoc across Kumaon. About 15 bridges have been washed away in Kumaon, while more than 90 connectivity roads are closed. The railway track at Kathgodam station was also hit by rain and 500 meters of the track was submerged in the Gaula river. In this sequence, the Railways had canceled all trains running from Kathgodam railway station. While many trains were short terminated. Meanwhile, a good news has come to the fore. Northeast Railway has repaired the track near Kathgodam station.

According to the latest information, the operation of all trains operating from Kathgodam station has started once again from today. All trains will run from Kathgodam on their scheduled time. Only Ranikhet Express will not be operated from Kathgodam at present.

Ranikhet Express will operate from Lalkuan. This is because Ranikhet Express train has 17 coaches. Due to the damaged track of Kathgodam station, train with so many coaches cannot operate from here. Due to this it has been decided to operate it from Lalkuan at present. Apart from this, both the passenger trains running from Kathgodam station have also been cancelled. With this, keeping in view the condition of the track, 16 coaches of Sampark Kranti train have been reduced to 12. Kathgodam station manager said that from today i.e. from Thursday, all the trains operating in the east from Kathgodam station will start operating again. All trains will run according to their scheduled day and time. On the other hand, Ranikhet Express train running between Kathgodam and Old Delhi will leave Lalkuan till 7th November at its scheduled time and will reach on stipulated time.
