Hearing on Kulbhushan Jadhav case in ICJ from Feb 18 to 21 next year

Kulbhushan Jadhav case will be heard from 18 to 21 February next year in International Court of Justice(ICJ). The hearing will be in two rounds. First, India will be given an opportunity to keep its side, then Pakistan will talk about it.

On February 18, 2019, in the first round, India will get an opportunity to talk from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The next day i.e. 19 is Pakistan’s number. They will also be given time from 10 am to 1:00 pm.

In the second round, on February 20, India has been allotted time from three to four-thirty in the evening, while Pakistanwill present its side on February 21, from 4:30 to 6 PM.

Even after Imran Khan’s government in Pakistan, there has been no behavior in his stand. Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had claimed in August that Pakistan has ‘concrete evidence’ against Indian citizen Kulbhushan Jadhav and he is hopeful of winning in the case against him in the international court.

Significantly, 47-year-old Jadhav was sentenced to death by a military court in Pakistan in April 2017 on charges of espionage. India had approached the International Court against that decision in May of that year. The International Court banned Jadhav’s execution on the appeal of India.

Pakistan says its security forces had arrested Jadhav from Balochistan province in March 2016 when he allegedly entered the country from Iran. Pakistan has said in international court that Jadhav was not an ordinary person, but he had entered the country with the intention of espionage and subversion.

At the same time, India has denied these allegations from the beginning and said that Jadhav was kidnapped from Iran where he was living in connection with his business after retirement from the Navy, but he had no contact with the government.
