Airtel successfully conducts 5G trials in Hyderabad

Telecom company Bharti Airtel has announced a 5G Ready network in India. The company has successfully performed live 5G service on commercial network in Hyderabad yesterday.

The country has become the first company to offer this kind of service. Airtel did so through its existing Liberalized spectrum in 1800 MHz band through NSA network technology. However, the full experience of 5G will be available to customers only when sufficient spectrum is available and government approval will be obtained.

On live trial, Bharti Airtel MD and CEO Gopal Vitthal said, ‘I am proud of our engineers who have worked tirelessly to showcase this incredible potential in the tech city of Hyderabad today. Each of our investments is certified in the future, as this game has proved to be a game changing test in Hyderabad.”

He said that Airtel has become the first operator to demonstrate this capability and with this we have shown again that we have always been at the forefront of leading new technologies in our quest to empower Indians everywhere in India.
