Nainital HC to hear pleas challenging Municipal Corporations expansion

Hearing on the petitions challenging the limits of Municipal Corporation in the High Court will now be heard on March 8. The court accepted the request form for making the party on behalf of the State Election Commission in the matter. Now all petitions will be heard simultaneously.

The State Government has extended the limits of the bodies and notified the inclusion of rural areas in it. This notification was challenged by the government’s order by filing petitions by more than a dozen villagers.

It has been said in the petition that without the consent of the government, they were inducted into bodies, which is wrong both on constitutional and ethical basis. It also said that the decision was not adopted in the case of border extension. March 8 has been finalized as the date of hearing.
