Corona update: Central government urges 8 states to be vigilant
There has been a continuous increase in the cases of Corona this month. Now the government has also become alert about this. The Central Government has asked 8 states of the country to monitor the cases of Corona. The government said that keep an eye on the positivity rate of Corona and make complete preparations accordingly. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan said, ‘Corona is not over yet. We have to avoid laxity at any level. If we don’t do this, the relief we got due to the restrictions will be over. Rajesh Bhushan said that at present the number of people getting admitted in the hospital due to Corona is less. Apart from this, the number of deaths is also less.’
He said that the symptoms of the current variant of Corona are not very dangerous, yet there is a need to be vigilant. The Health Secretary said that there is a possibility of rapidly increasing corona cases at the local level. He said that there is more need for vigilance in those states and districts where the positivity rate remains high. The 8 states that the government has alerted about Corona include UP, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Kerala, Karnataka, Haryana and Delhi.
Even in these states, the government is considering such districts as a cause of concern, where the positivity rate of corona has been found to be 10 percent or more. There is one such district in UP, while in Tamil Nadu 11 districts have an infection rate of more than 10 per cent. Apart from this, corona positivity rate is high in 6 districts of Rajasthan, 8 in Maharashtra, 14 in Kerala, 12 in Haryana and 11 in Delhi. The government has advised that Covid surveillance should be increased. Symptoms of people suffering from influenza should be monitored. Apart from this, if there are problems like breathing, then help should be given to them.
Not only this, the government’s advice is to increase the tests for corona. Apart from this, genome sequencing should also be done. In the last 24 hours, 11,692 new cases have been found across the country. In this way, the number of active cases in the country has increased rapidly to 66,170. Significantly, the number of new cases of corona is continuously coming out more than those recovering. Due to this, the phase of increase in active cases continues.
