Preparations complete for PM Modi’s visit to Doon; traffic to be diverted on key routes

On the international Yoga Day, the administration has made complete preparations for PM Modi’s visit to Dehradun. No entry without pass will be given in the campus. Along with this, adequate security arrangements have been made.

The police has also made adequate arrangements for the yoga camp organized in FRI. Additional Director General of Police and Command Ashok Kumar said that the ID proof (which was used to make the pass) and the mandatory pass is necessary to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s yoga camp. Apart from this, the entry will be available only after the scheduled time. He has also appealed to the citizens to see the route and traffic diversion plan before leaving home.
During the media briefing at the police headquarters, ADG Ashok Kumar said that no suspicious items should be brought from the house. He said that Chakrata Road from Ballupur to Premnagar will be declared zero zero at three o’clock. Before that heavy vehicle will be diverted from midnight on June 20 and light vehicles from 3 am to 10 amon 21st June.
He has appealed to the common people to arrive on time in the yoga camp. Apart from this, it is advised to study about diversion plans, route plans and parking.

63 cctv cameras to monitor International Yoga Day activities

63 CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the yoga practitioners coming to the yoga camp of PM. Apart from the on the 60 gate of the premises, cameras have been installed at VVIP and main sites. Apart from this, the team of BDS, the intelligence agency will be conducting step-by-step checking. Apart from this, those who enter will be checked with QR machines at every gate.

Water bottle, mat prohibited

Yoga participants will not be allowed to bring water bottles, mats and bags with them. Mat, bottle of water will be available in fixed block. Apart from this, restrictions on cameras and other electronic material will also be imposed.

Traffic Plan in Dehradun on International Yoga Day

– All vehicles coming from Vikasnagar will be standing in the parking lot of IMA. From here, one has to reach the venue at FRI via Brandis gate.

-All vehicles coming from Dehradun city from Ballpur-Bauliwala-Vasant Vihar will be parked at Jitendra Joshparking lot. From here participants will walk to reach Brandis Gate through Vivek Gupta Chowk.

– Buses coming from Rishikesh, Roorkee and Haridwar will be allowed to enter the parking space inside the FRI from the IMA gate.

– All the buses coming from Vikasanagar will be taken off from Rangarwala and parked in Dussehra Ground.

– All the buses coming from Dehradun  to Ballupur and Balliwala will enter the Tea-State Parking.

Diversion plan for common people

  • All vehicles coming from Vikasanagar to Dehradun will be diverted from Herbertpur to Shimla Bypass.
  • All vehicles coming from Selaqui, Rajawala to Dehradun will be diverted from Dhoolkot to Shimla Bypass.
  • All vehicles coming from Sundanawala, Premnagar to Dehradun will be diverted from the Premnagar Chowk to Shimla Bypass.
  • All vehicles coming from Rangdawala to Dehradun will be diverted from Panditwadi towards Vasant Vihar, Balliwala.
  • All vehicles going from ISBT  Niranjanpur to Premnagar, Vikasnagar will be diverted from St Jude’s Square to Naya Gaon.
  • All vehicles going to Premnagar, Vikasnagar, from Kaulagarh and Ghantaghar, will be diverted from Ballupur Chowk to Baliwala from St Jude’s Square to Naya Gaon.

These vehicles will be allowed

Ambulance carrying the patient, the most essential services, the other vehicles, including the Firebrigade, will be allowed to move on the main routes. However, these vehicles will be allowed only after checking.

Yoga participants will have to Return up to five km on foot

The participants in the FRI Yoga camp will have to do a lot of workout for the return. Especially for the Nehru Ground, Tea-State, Dussehra Ground and MDDA’s parking, they have to cover a distance of about five km. The shortest distance will be one-and-a-half km distance for the parking of IMA and Jitendra Joshi parking. Traffic jam could be a big issue due to the crowd leaving together after the event.
